Special Symposium
One field has emerged that offers both the ability to create an almost
unlimited range of complex two and three dimensional nanostructured
materials, and the potential for mass production of these materials. It
is hardly surprising that polymer nanotechnology is one of the fastest
growing areas of the Nanotech Conferences. Recent developments in
polymer synthesis provide a wealth of copolymer structures —
di-blocks, tri-blocks, linear chains and branches. Developments in
theory and modeling predict the nanoscale structure that will result
from the self-assembly of these materials. Developments in processing
technology provide control as nanostructure formation is directed or
“frozen in”. Developments in combinatorial methods for
synthesis and processing help to explore the vast array of materials.
Developments in characterization allow us to determine which structures
have indeed been formed.
The 2008 Polymer Nanotechnology Symposium will provide an opportunity to
share your contribution to this important field.

The Polymer Nanotechnology symposium will be coordinated with the Soft Nanotechnology
Symposium, the Nanoparticles in Soft
Materials: Colloids Symposium, and the Composites and Interfaces
Symposium.
Poster Contest
Poster presentations accepted into this symposium will be automatically
entered into the Soft Matter Poster Contest. Entries will be judged
during the poster sessions at Nanotech 2008 by a team of Soft
Nanotechnology experts from industry, the NSTI, and the Royal Society of
Chemistry. The poster reporting the most exciting new discovery or
application of soft nanostructured materials will receive a subscription
to the RSC Soft Matter Journal.

Selected Nanotech Proceedings papers will be reviewed and invited into Soft Matter.
